Across the globe, the 45 reigns supreme on most speed tracks and holds the majority of production board speed records. At the Speed World Championships 2024 the Speed 45 was the board taking ALL the podium places with Vincent Valkenaers in 1st followed by Hans Kreisel in 2nd and Antoine Albeau in 3rd!

Speed 40
Years of development have culminated in the creation of the Speed 40, our fastest speed board yet. The prototypes dominated speed events in Lüderitz and the last GPS Challenges, leading our team riders to the unanimous conclusion that the shape of the current ‘40’ stood out as superior. This design features a flat scoop rocker line with a transforming V from front to tail, ensuring perfect release and water flow under the board. Unique small Cut-Outs in the tail area reduce the wetted surface while maintaining a wide tail for optimal leverage to load the fin. Additionally, a recessed deck in the front lowers the mast base position and enhances control, further amplifying the board’s impressive speed.

Speed 45
With the JP Speed 45, Hans Kreisel proved that this shape can handle and control speeds exceeding 100 km/h. This dedicated speed design offers unparalleled control and stability, allowing you to push your limits and unleash your full potential on the water, even when the fear level is threatening to take over. It suits a wide range of speed sailing competitions – from ocean to non-ideal channel conditions – and performs optimally in a wider variety of wind angles. As such it remains the all-round version of these two super small high-performance designs.

The qualities of the 45 were proven once again in 2024 when the JP Speed 45 was the board of all three riders taking the podium with Vincent Valkenaers B-62 as the Speed World Champion, followed by his team mate Hans Kreisel NED-85 in second as Vice World Champion and Antoine Albeau FRA-192 in third.

Surfboard care: How to make your board last longer

A surfboard is more than just a piece of sports equipment - it's a loyal companion. To enjoy your board for a long time, proper care is essential. Here are our top tips:

1. Sun protection for your board

Shade is key: Direct sunlight causes colors to fade and can yellow the board. Always keep your board in the shade when you are not using it.
Board bag as a protective shield: A board bag protects your board from sun, sand and scratches.

2. Operating the Airscrew

Always operate the Airscrew according to the manufacturer's instructions!

3. Sand and salt - the natural enemies of your board

Rinse after surfing: Rinse your board thoroughly with fresh water after each session to remove salt and sand.
Don't forget to dry it: Dry your board thoroughly before packing it in the board bag to avoid damaging the paintwork (Osmosis and discoloration).

4. Maintaining your board bag

Drying is important: A damp board bag can lead to rust on the zippers and mold formation. Always let it dry well after transport.
Clean regularly: Remove sand and salt from the board bag regularly.

5. Repair damage

Quick reaction: If damage occurs, you should act quickly. Dry the area and repair it as soon as possible.
Regular inspection: Check your board for new damage after every session.

6. Winter storage

Dry and cool: Store your board in a dry and cool place, protected from frost.
Padding: To avoid pressure points, place your board on soft surfaces.
