Parawing
What is Parawinging and who is it for?
THE FREEDOM TO RIDE BUMPS IN ANY LOCATION
(LAKE, HARBOUR, OCEAN, LAND).
In essence, a parawing is a super short-bridled single-
skin kite designed to get you up on foil using the wind
and then pack away so you can foil hands-free using the energy of the ocean.
If you fall off foil, simply pull the parawing back out and get back on foil.
Parawinging has opened up more DW (Downwind) foiling spots for
riders who are not paddle-strong, but have wind/kite
backgrounds.
BEYOND JUST PULLING YOU UP ONTO FOIL, THEN STASHING THE WING, A PARAWING CAN OFFER:
- Surfing waves without pumping or a jetski - especially point breaks with side shore breeze .
- Use a Parawing on land with all kinds of fun tools: Skate/Longboard, Dune Mtn board, ice skates, skis or snowboard and more (be careful to not rip the ultra-light material here).
- As starting method for Foil Pumping
- As fun little extra-toy for Stand-Up-Paddeling (riding upwind will only be possible for very experienced riders on a standard SUP-Board).
- Freestyle and freeride, cruse around the bays or lake (In this case, a traditional Wing would deliver superior performance in most scenarios).
- A rescue chute for wingfoiling or paddling as additional backup.
- At the start or end of a downwind paddle to get out into better bumps .
- To access DW locations that would otherwise be off-limits .
- Launch when there is no space to set up a wing or kiting is banned .
