The GO board is Starboard's flagship progressive freeride board, originally launched in 1999 to make planing accessible for everyone. Designed for early planing in light winds, stable cruising, and smooth jibes, the GO is engineered to help windsurfers of all levels experience the thrill of effortless gliding. In 2026, it evolves with new technology to become even more beginner-friendly while retaining the performance that intermediates and experts love.

Construction: Starlite

It’s all about getting into the plane much earlier, staying upwind, and jibing like never before.
Planing: To get going, you would normally put your front foot outside the strap to keep the board flat and help it accelerate into the plane.
With the new GO, we have moved the fin box and straps forward by 20cm to put you in the ideal position to be in the strap from the get-go.
The GO's bottom shape features a deep V that expands the flat area for even more acceleration into the plane, and ensures it glides smoothly through chop.
Ride Feel: Oversized cutaways run all the way to the front foot strap, allowing the GO152 to release freely at speed; it's a fast board despite its size.
This more forward stance and super early planing ability helps the board track upwind better, so you can confidently explore the coastline.
When the wind is solid and you know how to use a harness, you can hook in and enjoy the excitement of full planing.
The rail profile rolls smoothly onto the deck, keeping your feet at the most comfortable angle even in the inner straps.
The variety of strap positions help you progress from beginner using the inner front straps to high-speed blasting using the outer rear inserts.

CUTAWAY TECH: Reduces wetted surface area in the tail, making it surprisingly fast despite its large volume.
FORWARD FIN AND STRAP POSITION: Fin and front strap moved 20cm forward to allow riders to start with their feet already positioned, greatly facilitating planing.
STABLE OUTLINE: Wide deck and EVA padding (on the EVA model) make it extremely beginner-friendly.
FORWARD STANCE GEOMETRY: Eases balance, initiation of planing, and control.

REBALANCE VOLUME: More control when jibing.
FULL DECK PAD OPTION: The GO also comes with a 3/4 deck pad providing a soft and friendly surface for those tough first learning days. A classic pad option is available for more advanced riders, giving the feel of our jibe-oriented boards Carve and Futura.
